Obituary of Richard P. Stone

Richard “Dick” P. Stone, 91, passed away peacefully at The Alice Center on Thursday, March 9th, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family and the staff of the Alice Center. Richard served as a NYS National Guard Commanding Officer for 20 years. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer, mowing the lawn, watching sports, and taking some of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to The Nutcracker Ballet every year. He was predeceased by his wife: Rita Stone, their son: Rickey Stone, his parents: Cleophus and Elizabeth (Lamountain) Stone, and his brother: Fr. Carl Stone. He is survived by his children: Tina (Michael) Zebulske, Michael (Cherie) Stone, Denis (Mary) Stone. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. Calling Hours will take place on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, N.Y. A prayer service will take place at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service in Malone.
