Eleanor M. Coughlin, 92, of Massena, N.Y., passed away on May 14, 2023 at the Massena Rehab and Nursing Facility.

Born on June 26, 1930 in Burke, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sarah Tolan Shonyo.

On December 25, 1949, she was married to the late John E. Coughlin in Eleanor’s parents home. John predeceased her in 2018.

She is survived by her sons; Roger (Laura) Coughlin of Midland, TX., and Keith Coughlin of Norfolk, N.Y., her daughters; Kathy Coughlin of Massena and Karen Bresnick of California, a brother Charles Shonyo of Chateaugay, N.Y., as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband, as well as her sons Tommy, Ronald and Dale Coughlin, her brothers; Robert, Walter, Wilford and Gerald Shonyo, sisters Helen Shonyo and Christine Perry, and a sister in law Dorothy Duheme.

She was a homemaker, and was a den leader for the Cub Scouts in the 1960’s.
