Obituary of Joan Lavoie

Joan C. Lavoie, 93, of Malone, N.Y., beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, entered the Kingdom of God on May 18, 2023. She was the wife of Earl Lavoie, and the youngest of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clark.
She was predeceased by a sister; Joyce Osborn, and brothers; Douglas and Jack Clark.
She graduated from Franklin Academy in 1947 and worked for the telephone company as an operator and in the business offices of Malone and Plattsburgh.
She married Earl Lavoie in 1957, and raised four children; Jeffrey, who passed away in 1999, her daughter Tracey (Bernard) Bruyere, sons Dana (Robyn) Lavoie and Mark (Karen) Lavoie. Joan also leaves behind a daughter in law; Tracy Lavoie, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The joy of her life were the children and grandchildren and following their various activities. Many Sundays the children and grandchildren would come over in the afternoon for a snack and conversation.
She also enjoyed working in the kitchen, trying different food preparation, and was a member of the Malone Golf Club and for many years enjoyed a late afternoon nine holes and a late lunch with friends. She was a volunteer at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, an election inspector for Franklin County and the Malone Central School District and she enjoyed vacations at Myrtle Beach with her husband and shopping.
Joint calling hours for both Earl and Joan will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 10a.m.-noon at Notre Dame Church in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon. Burial will take place in New St. Joseph’s Cemetery on the Child Road in Malone following Mass.
