Charles B. Taylor, 88, of Duane Street Malone and Fort Myers FL., passed to heaven on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Mr. Taylor was born in Winthrop, N.Y., son of Guy David Taylor and Doris Tilden Taylor-Duncan on October 13, 1934. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central School and was a member of the six-man boys championship football team, undefeated in 1951.

He graduated from Paul Smith’s College with a Forestry degree and worked for the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and county road crews prior to joining the U.S. Army for two years where he was in the military police.

Mr. Taylor worked for Cornell University at the Biological Field Station in Bridgeport, N.Y. for nearly 35 years, first as a fisheries technician and then as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, and spending time at the Spring Cove Camp. He was very proud of his family.

He married Sylvia Tessier May 23, 1959 and they celebrated 64 years together this year. Together they raised two children.

Surviving Mr. Taylor are his wife, daughter; Suzanne Taylor-Miller and son-in-law Robert of Cadyville, NY, son; Guy B. Taylor and daughter in-law Julie of Buhl, Idaho and three grandchildren, Danielle S. Taylor, David F. Miller and his wife Jessica Bushey Miller, and Wylie B. Taylor and several sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass for Mr. Taylor will be held at the Elderwood Nursing Home in Lake Placid, NY, on Thursday, June 8 at 11:45 with burial to follow in the Winthrop N.Y Cemetery, Brasher Falls, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the American Heart Association.
