Robert MacDonald, 70, of Fort Covington, N.Y., passed away on June 22, 2023, at the University of Vermont Health Network; Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born to Alexander and Lena Morris MacDonald on June 21, 1953, in Cornwall, Ont. He attended local schools and he was a mechanic and bus driver at Salmon River Central School in Fort Covington. On May 27, 1983, he was wed to the former Denise Black in Fort Covington. She survives. Other survivors include his son Bradley (Nicole) Nichols of Syracuse, N.Y., a daughter Traci (Matthew) Maneely of Fort Covington, his sisters Bonnie Boak of Michigan, Laurie MacDonald of Fort Covington and Debbie Cartier of Fort Covington, and his grandchildren; Alyssa, Noah and Jacob Maneely. Along with his parents he was predeceased by two grandchildren: Caileigh and Rylee Maneely. An hour of visitation will take place from 10-11a.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at St. Mary’s of the Fort Church in Fort Covington, with a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington.
