Obituary of Joyce LaMere

Joyce T. LaMere, 80, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on July 29, 2023, at the UVM Health Network: Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She was born to the late Raymond and Bernice Andrews McGee on June 5, 1943, in Malone. She attended local schools and worked as a Certidfied Nursing Assistant at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, retiring in 2001. On January 20, 1962, she was wed to the late Larry LaMere, Sr. at a ceremony in Westville, N.Y. He predeceased Joyce on February 9, 2001. Left behind to cherish the memories of Joyce are four sons; Larry (Chantal) LaMere, Jr of Maine, John LaMere and his companion Dorie Dietz of Virginia, Leon LaMere and Theresa Cordero of Malone and Gary LaMere and Patricia Vincent of Burke, N.Y., two daughters; Tammy (Bruce) Johnson of Constable and Tina Taylor and Peter Soulia of Malone, a daughter-in-law Brenda Feimann, her brothers; Jerome McGee and Anna Martin of Moira, N.Y., Gary (Gail) McGee of Malone and Mark (Barbara) McGee of Tennessee, her sisters; Judith White and her companion Sonny of Allentown, N.Y., Sharon (Larry) Jarvis of Malone and Sheila (Kenneth) Patnode of Malone, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son Greg LaMere, a brother Leon McGee and a sister Ida Perry. Joyce was a former member of the Malone Woman of the Moose, and loved going to the casino, traveling and visiting with family. She was also a caretaker to many friends. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, August 2 from 10a.m.-12p.m. at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will take place at noon in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at St. John Bosco Cemetery.
