When I was a child our family spent all of our vacations at the farm as my dad, Jim, and Stub were brothers. I enjoyed everything about the farm. Most of all, I enjoyed the companionship of Jay. We were close in age and did everything together. We cleaned the gutters, milked the cows, got the hay down for feeding, and spread the manure with the tractor. We fished in the pond and speared suckers in the brook. We shared dirty jokes. We were friends as well as cousins. We hadn’t seen each other for ten years but the fond memories remain. RIP my friend.
