Obituary of Josephine "Dee" French

Josephine “Dee” French, 92, of North Bangor, N.Y., passed away on October 1, 2023, at Massena Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Born on June 30, 1931, in Pierrepont, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Inez (Kio) Tucker. On March 17, 1973, she was wed to the late Maurice A. French in St. Regis Falls, N.Y. He predeceased her. At one time she worked as a waitress, then at Tru-Stitch Factory in Malone before becoming a homemaker. She loved going to craft sales, crocheting, baking, gardening, and reading. She is survived by her sons; Randy French and his fiancée Linda Davis of Brandon, N.Y., Lawrence Stevens of Austria and David and Desiree Stevens of Chase Mills, N.Y., her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Bryce Mussaw of Tennessee, her brother Eugene (Donna) Tucker of Dickinson, N.Y., eleven grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, as well as many, many honorary grandchildren who loved to call her grandma. She was predeceased by her husband, a brother Richard Tucker, her sisters Ellen Simmons and Vivian Swift and a grandson Mark Edwards. An hour of visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, October 7 at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Juanita Brooks officiating. The burial will take place in Steven Cemetery in Skerry. Arrangements are under the care of the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, N.Y.
