Velma (Casagrain) Benware, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024 in the care of her daughter Donna Benware Vanier and Hospice of the North Country.
Velma was the daughter of the late Amos and Mae (LaFountain) Casagrain. She grew up in Owls Head and attended St. Joseph’s Ursaline Academy and remained an active alumnus for years, along with her loyal support of the Edmunite Missions in Alabama.
She worked for attorney Clark, Woolworth, and Warner Plant in her younger years.
On August 17, 1953, she married Harold Benware at Notre Dame Church in Malone. He predeceased her on June 14, 2003. Velma and Harold enjoyed family, home life, and traveling for 50 wonderful years.
She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother.
Services will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
