I still remember the days Mrs. Brown would come into the building arms full of cookies for us students. The days she would walk down the halls of boces just singing her songs to keep the environment happy and on its toes my heart still sinks everyday for losing her especially during my senior year but I am proud to say I had her picture on my cap for graduation I moved many hearts with not just pushing her memories to the side and held her memory out as long as I could and if I could do anything different I'd go back in time and change the days that I went into school moody and took it out on the teachers I'm glad me and Mrs. Brown ended on good terms I love and miss her so much

Dearest Karen,
Such fun times when we got a chance to hang out. So much catching up to do, when we would meet. Know that your sweet bundle of energy will be missed by all that cross paths with you. Until we meet again, friend...

My dear friend Kay Kay, or shall I say my Reba, story to follow... Karen and I shared a room at BOCES for years. We were as thick as thieves... we kind of were stuck together regardless of the days that were tough. We went through many challenges and changes together, and still our friendship remained. That's where Reba comes from.... She made a joke one day and said we were like Reba and Barbara Jean from the popular sitcom "REBA". And there it stuck... even though my children, husband and I always called her our Kay-Kay... our colleagues would come to know us as Reba and Barbara Jean... through staff meetings, certain trainings we would be separated because no matter how long of day we had together you would still hear our chatter and sometimes banter when all others were silent. Kay-Kay and I went through a lot together as well as in our private lives, always there to offer help, assistance or advice. During one of those times Kay-Kay shared a secret with me.... she said "Barbara-Jean, you know what I do every morning on my way to work?" I replied "What's that Kay-Kay?" on a side note... Kay-Kay would go to work everyday over an hour early as she would arrive between 6/6:30am depending on the weather and would always be sure to see or talk to her sweet mama before as well...back to the secret...
Kay-Kay told me and at this point as she had no choice as she blew her speakers out of her van named Scoobie, she told me Every morning on her way to work she would turn off Scoobie's radio and would pray... she would say all her Hail Mary's and then say a prayer for all that was near and dear to her... every one every day! She told me she even prays for me, and my children, and all those children she worked with every day. She looked me square in my eyes that day as I had a hidden gratitude towards her & thanked her... She says "Barbara Jean... you should just try it, turn your radio off and just pray, say whatever you want out loud, he listens and you will find this peace, an inner peace that's what helps me every day!" When she would get to work that's when she would turn the local radio station on and you would hear her beautiful voice echo through the halls. The students would listen to her as she would begin their day together. My Reba, there is not a doubt in my mind that you are up there watching over us all singing, and dancing with the angels now and enjoying being reunited with those whom passed before you! Thank you for always being you a true friend, and beautiful soul ... be in peace and out of pain, may you enjoy endless backrubs and cinnamon raisin bagels and banana bread with butter while you watch over us. FLY HIGH AND SOAR MY DEAR KAY-KAY !
Love always my friend,
Barbara Jean (Rachel Lawrence)

Karen, our last visit together was full of laughter and conversation. You would light up a room with your smile and you would always make someone feel special just by the attention you gave them. I will miss you at any future gatherings. I will remember you asking to hold the baby that was there and seeing your face when you held her. It was so full of joy. Tom, I'm sorry for your loss and also to her mom whom Karen spoke so lovingly of. I will miss you, my birthday twin, and I will remember you always on our shared day. You will be missed by many, but never forgotten by any of us.

My deepest condolences to the st. Ann family at this time. Karen was a wonderful person. She lit up a room with her presence. She had the voice of an angel. She was always laughing and joking. Loved seeing her at friends camp and just visiting with her. She was full of laughter which will truly be missed. Glad I got to meet her years ago and hang out on occasion with our mutual friends. She will be singing with the angels now. And will truly be missed .

My deepest sympathy to ALL the Family. Karen was such a dear friend. We met in 1986 working together. She always made me laugh. She was so caring and kind. I remember her singing at karaoke one night and surprised me by dedicating a song to me. A beautiful voice she had. Then one time she had us all in stitches in the office and the phone rings. It was the Big Boss upstairs that requested to please keep the noise down. So many memories thru out the years. I will keep them close to my heart. Thinking of ALL of you . You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless

In the quiet hours of recent sorrow, I reflect upon Karen's bountiful spirit; her unique blend of compassion, humor, and thoughtful nature made every interaction a joy. A cardinal's song alludes to her lingering grace. Karen was my guiding light in school, and enriched our lives with her unfathomable kindness and infectious laughter. Heartfelt condolences for this irreplaceable loss - she will be keenly missed. Her moving request to hold my child a little longer will forever echo in memory.
