Mrs. Melo was a great team player. She was there for any teachers who needed her help to contact any student. Even though her rosters had always been long, she was able to locate any student with just one phone call. Any teacher who came to Mrs. Melo was always happy with her wonderful support.
Not only that Mrs. Melo was great at her work, but she also was a great cook. Everybody would want to know which dish that she would bring in, so that they can try it fist. She always brought great surprise to our potluck at school. I will miss her a lot.
Mrs. Melo was best at sharing her positive attitude with students and teachers. She will be missed by so many of us because her number is on our speed dial!!! I will miss you a lot, Mrs. Melo!

Tara, Darlene, LuLu, and Kelvis --
I was heartbroken to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a truly special woman, and I’ll always cherish the time we spent together -- nearly 40 years.
I remember her as a kind, gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. She always had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at ease.
I know this is a difficult time, and there are no words that can truly ease your pain. But please know that I’m thinking of you all and sending you my love and support. May the beautiful memories you shared with your mother bring you comfort and strength.

Laurie was simply an amazing person with a huge heart. She loved her students and they loved her back. Laurie worked in my classroom for several years and she had an amazing work ethic. Some of the best subs I ever ate were made by Laurie, especially her sausage and peppers. She was always so proud of her family and loved them fiercely. Thanks for all the wonderful memories over the years, Laurie

I remember Laurie not only from her working at Salmon River, but also from her participating in our Valentine Tea Parties and other classroom activities during the years that I enjoyed each of her children as students in my first grade class. I know her family was very important to her and I am sure you will all miss her very much. I send you my sincere condolences. Susan Yaddow

I will always remember Laurie bringing in her Italian sausage and peppers and making sure I got some for my lunch. She would announce days ahead of time that she was going to make us lunch, and she did. I really enjoyed Laurie! A small woman with a huge heart, she will be missed here at Salmon River.
Take care and God bless everyone,
Allen Gravell
