Obituary of Diane M. Rivers

Diane M. Rivers, formerly of Malone, age 79, passed away on October 18, 2024 at the Elderwood of Uihlein Nursing Home in Lake Placid. Born on February 17, 1945 in Malone, she was the daughter of the late Nelson & Stella (Marshall) Sancomb. On June 6, 1968, she was wed to Norman J. Rivers. He predeceased her on November 27, 1991. Diane was a Physical Therapy Assistant for over 26 years at Alice Hyde Rehabilitation in Malone. She loved going to the casino, caring for the elderly and was a member of Notre Dame Church in Malone. She is survived by her sons; William (Annette) Rivers of Texas, Wade Rivers of Malone, a stepson; Scott (Cynthia) Rivers of Moira, a daughter Shelly Lapp of Deland, Fl., two step daughters; Cynthia (Wayne) Louey of Dickinson and Nancy (James) LaBrake of Westville, a sister; Sandra (Roger) Woods of Parishville, as well as six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Diane was predeceased by her brothers; Nelson, Jr., Robert, Richard and Carl Sancomb, and her sisters Patricia Sancomb, Evelyn Jeror, Geraldine Perry, Elizabeth Proper, Caroline Dechamp, Viola O'Donnell, Gloria Sancomb and Sally Dupra. As a final act of caring for others, Diane has donated her body to science and research. There will be no formal services, however she will be interned at New St. Joseph's Cemetery in Malone, beside her husband at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service in Malone.
