Martin (Marty) V.C. Wright, age 63 of Malone, NY passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2024 at his home.
Born in Malone on June 2, 1961, he was the son of the late James and Charmaine Touhey Wright.
He graduated from Franklin Academy High School in Malone, NY in 1979.
Marty served in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1992 when he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
Marty then worked for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after 27 years of service. During his career he devoted endless time and effort volunteering as President of Teamsters and UPSEU unions.
On May 13, 2006, he was united in marriage to the former Donna Wheeler at their residence in Malone, NY.
Marty enjoyed going for long rides in the car with Donna and riding his motorcycle together. He loved working on cars and small engines. In his free time enjoyed going to the casino. He also loved and enjoyed the company of his feline pets over the years.
Marty is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Billie Jo Sepulveda of East Rochester, NY, Amanda (Jesse) Rockhill of Westville, NY, Krista (Adam) Niles of Fort Covington, NY, and Bobbie Jo (Matthew) Emond of Mooers, NY, one sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Bob Rivers Jr of Malone, NY, two brothers Wayne of Texas and James of Syracuse. Nine grandchildren, Justice Rockhill, Serenity Wright, Manuel Sepulveda, Melania Sepulveda, Hope Rockhill, Eastan Rockhill, Malia Emond, Grace Emond, and Leyila Niles.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son-in-law Robert Sepulveda in 2015.
There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, NY with Deacon Brian Dwyer officiating.
It was Marty’s wish that there be no flowers. Please consider making a donation to the North Country Honor Flight in memory of Martin Wright.
