Obituary of Margaret Ann Safford

~Margaret Ann Safford, 77, of Malone, NY., passed away Thursday evening, September 7, 2017, at her home, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
   Born in Fort Covington, NY., October 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence LaBrake Rushlow, Sr. She attended local schools.
   She was married to Francis Lord. He predeceased her. On December 5, 1981, she was united in marriage to Philip G. Safford in Hopkinton, NY. He survives.
   Margaret was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, and bingo and cooking.
   Along with her husband, Philip, she is survived by five daughters and one son in law, Victoria LaShomb of Malone, NY., Emily Plourde of Massena, NY., Rose and Chris Mattas of Schoharie, NY., and Renota and Rosaline Lord, two brothers, George LaBrake and his companion, Pearl Arsenault of Moira, NY., and Conrad Rushlow, Sr. of Constable, NY., one sister and brother in law, Elizabeth and David Wells of Helena, NY., eight grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
   Besides her parents and her first husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Kathleen Rushlow, four brothers, John Rushlow, Jr., and Stanley, Aaron and Lee Rushlow and one sister, Edna Stevens.
   Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until Noon, at the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home, in Fort Covington, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the new St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Fort Covington, NY.
   Donations may be made in her memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc., in Malone, NY.
   Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, NY.
