Marilyn, Connie and Lori.....I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I never had the chance to meet Bob, but I am fortunate enough to work with one of his lovely daughters, Connie, who shares "Bob" stories and memories with us. Through Connie's stories and memories of her father, I truly feel as though I know Bob as if I met him myself. Bob and I would have been pals for sure because he reminds me of my father.........a good-hearted man with outstanding family values and who has so much love for his family. I love seeing Connie's eyes light up when she talks about her father........it's obvious that her father is the love of her life!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless all of you and know that everyone at MMC is here for you. We are all thinking of you!!!!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I grew up going to the "Fruit Market" for everything and Mr. Fellion was a wonderful part of my childhood. He was such a friendly man and helped teach me how to shop, count change and navigate some of the first steps toward being a "grown up". The store was also a safe place on the way to and from school. There aren't many people like Mr. Fellion and he served his community in so many ways. He is greatly missed.

Marilyn and family,
I am so sorry to hear of John's death. He was a great guy. He was always kind to everyone. When I would go in the store with my daughter, he would say, Big Tess and little Tess.. The last couple of years has taken its toll on the members of the class of 1952. My sympathy and prayers are with you.

I've lost a life long friend starting in first grade. Marilyn, my sympathies, John was a good friend to all who knew him. I'll miss him. Remember that Jesus referred to death as sleeping and he promised a resurrection to eternal life on a paradise earth. All our loved ones will be back.
Your friend,
Homer Holmes

To The Fellion Family,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I've not seen Mr. Fellion in many years but my memories of him and George's Fruit Market remain enveloped in my heart and mind as warm and thoughtful remeberances of a youthful time gone by.
We lived on Miller Street for many years when I was very small. We didn't have a lot of money then. Whenever I could find the change I would come in for a candy or two. I didn't realize it then but Mr. Fellion always made sure I had the "right amount" of money for my purchase. He would see me bounding in and I would call out a hello and go right to that section of candy. I can still see those candy bars on that outside aisle. I remember the Halloween costumes he would carry and they were the most magnificent costumes to a child my age, I now laugh because boy how they've changed over the years.
Each memory I recall is one that was always filled with compassion, care and kindness. I am thankful for everything that was extended to me. I have carried it with me into my adult life for about 40 years. I sometimes forget menial things but Mr, Fellion I did not. He was part of our neighborhood and community. He was part of my life as a little girl and am eternally thankful.
I've grown, married and moved away. I am now a married mother of four. I am an RN now, not struggling as I did as a child. There have been times over the years that I had thought to come back and say hello and tell him what a difference his kindness made. I've even told my own children stories of George's Fruit Market and Mr. Fellion and I smile every time.
So, in closing, please accept my most sincere condolences. When I saw the news of his death, as it came via the newspaper online, I felt sadness for the loss of truly a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all during this arduous journey ahead.
Respectfully,
Christine Porter
