~   Jerome J. “Jerry” McNulty, II., 90, of Malone, NY., passed away peacefully, Friday morning, May 12, 2017, at U.V.M Health Network-Alice Hyde Medical Center, in Malone, NY., surrounded by his loving family. He had been a patient there since May 9.
   Born in the Bronx, NY., April 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Jerome J. and Mary Morris McNulty, Sr.
   On August 13, 1951, he was united in marriage to the former Alice “Joyce” O’Brien in Ogdensburg, NY. She predeceased him on March 10, 2014.  
   He was proud of his service in the United States Navy during World War II, as a signalman in the Semaphore Department aboard the destroyer USS Corry DE-817. He was Honorably Discharged on July 22, 1946.
  Jerry joined the New York State Troopers in 1948. During the course of his career, he participated as well as supervised many major criminal investigations, including the Egan triple murders on New Years Eve in 1964, in Watertown, NY. Jerry was also tasked with the privilege of being head of security at the 1980 Winter Olympics, in Lake Placid, NY., and was at “The Hockey Game” U.S.A. vs. U.S.S.R. He was first a new Trooper at Troop B, in Malone, NY.,  Investigator/ Senior Investigator State Police, Watertown, NY., BCI Lieutenant/Captain State Police, Malone, NY., Troop Commander/ Major State Police Troop C, Sidney, NY. Jerry retired in 1983, as a Lieutenant Colonel, Division Headquarters of the New York State Police, in Albany, NY. He spent time as Head of Security at the St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He served as Chief of Police for the City of Ogdensburg, NY., for a period of time.
   He was a daily communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish, at St. Joseph’s Church, in Malone, NY. He was a long time member of the Malone Lodge of Elks, the Malone Knights of Columbus, and the Malone American Legion. He was an avid Giants, Yankee’s and “My Dukee’s” fan. He enjoyed reading, solving the New York Times crossword puzzles and a cold Genny Cream Ale.
 Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Jerome and Kathy McNulty, III. of Clay, NY., Thomas and Kathleen McNulty of Latham, NY., two daughters and sons in law, Kathleen and Jeffrey Rosenfield of Malone, NY., and Elizabeth and James Williams of Monson, MA., five grandchildren, David and James Williams, Christian and Lia McNulty and Megan McNulty Colbert, two great grandchildren Frida and Sophy Williams and soon to be born, Nathan Colbert.
   Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers and sisters in law, Robert and Joan McNulty and Donald and Jean McNulty and one sister in infancy. Virginia McNulty.
   Calling hours will be Monday May 22, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, in Malone, NY. Burial with full Military Rites will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, on the Lake Titus Road, in Malone, NY.
   Donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
