Sending my condolences to the families of Paul. I worked at the NYSDOT/Traffic office in Watertown and I thought Paul was a wonderful man. Although he was rather quiet the very few times when in our offices, we all know he was conscientious, hard working, and respected by his fellow traffic signal workers. To all of Paul’s loved ones, I know your loss is devastating and my words have no power to make you feel better. However, please know that my heart aches for each and every one of you. “Tante” Anita and “Uncle” Ray, you have been such an inspiration to me and your friendship and support of my parents and me are appreciated more than you know. I wish there was something I could give you in return to take this pain away. All I can offer all of you at this time are prayers that you will be blessed with the extra strength you need now and that your love for each other will bring you solace at this most difficult of times.
As for my favorite, and clearest, memory of Paul. It was during much simpler times. He was about four years old and would race up and down the sidewalk (street was off limits which is why we had to watch) on his little three wheeler (maybe a Hot Wheels) as fast as his little legs could go. The joy in his beautiful face was a wonderful sight to behold!

Paul and Tracie were going to come over to play cards with my wife and me. There apparently was confusion if it was to be Friday or Saturday night. Friday night, thinking we were going to play cards on Saturday I was watching tv sitting in my chair and my wife was in the bath. A car pulled into the driveway. It was Paul and Tracie! I yelled to my wife, telling her we had company. I met them at the door. They must have known by the look on my face that we weren’t expecting them that night. I told them my wife was in the tub. We all were a little embarrassed. They left and came back the next night-Saturday. When I answered the door, Paul was dressed in a bath robe with his shower caddy! It was absolutely hilarious!
