Obituary of Dianne L. Hardy

Dianne L. Hardy, 68, of Malone, N.Y., passed away at her home on January 6, 2022, while under the care of her family and Hospice of the North Country. Born on December 12, 1953, she was the daughter of Beverly Deuel Conn and the late Morris Collins. Dianne was a 1971 graduate of Franklin Academy in Malone, and graduated from S.U.N.Y. Potsdam in 1975. She worked for the Franklin County Probation Department, Foster Care and Preventative Services, Employment and Training and Supervisor of Family Court, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed golfing, flower gardening, hiking, snow shoeing, traveling and her family. Diane also spent six years as Director of North Country Preschool, was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Malone Elk’s, a member of the Alice Hyde Medical Center Auxilliary, and was a past member of the Malone Golf Club. On October 4, 1980, she was wed to Steve Hardy at the First Congregational Church of Malone. She is survived by her companion Donald Simpson of Malone, her daughters and sons in law; Lisa Hardy and John Bolecek of Richmond, Virginia and Lindsey Hardy and Ryan Hibler of Redmond, Oregon, a brother and his wife; Brian and Nolicel Collins of Glens Falls, N.Y., two sisters; Carol Collins of Malone and Joyce and Jerry Schulze of Sucaussana, N.J., and her grandchildren; Louis and Owen Bolecek and Theodore Hibler. A service will be held at Morningside Cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made to the ALS Association, Upstate New York Chapter, 135 Old Cove Road, suite 213, Liverpool, N.Y. 13090.
